Located 15km south-west of Skopje, Canyon Matka is one of the most beautiful outdoor destinations visited by locals and travelers. As a home to a high number of relic and endemic plants, as well as 77 species of Balkan endemic small butterflies, the Canyon enthralls with its raw and mysterious beauty. Its a must for every Skopje visitor.
Tour includes:
-transport by car from the Skopje City Center to the Canyon Matka (a pick up from the hostel can be arranged)
-1 hour kayaking in the Canyon (single or double kayaks are available)
-one hour and half free time (hiking, visiting the medieval churches, or just chilling in the bar near the lake)
-transport back from the Canyon Matka to the Skopje City Center.
*If one hour of kayaking is not enough (for me it’s never enough :), it is possible to make extension of the kayak rent duration. This will cost additional 400 denars per hour.
*The Canyon offers different type of outdoor activities like kayaking, boat trips to the canyon caves, hiking or exploring the nearby medieval churches, so if you are not into kayaking, you can take a boat trip, or just enjoy hiking near the lake.
